In collaboration with the Black Coalition for Safe Motherhood, we’re helping connect eligible participants to a virtual ACTT Workshop study supporting empowerment in prenatal care.
At People Empowering People for Inclusion Now (PEP!IN), we are committed to supporting partners who are advancing maternal health, safety, and equity — especially for Black women and birthing people who continue to face unacceptable disparities in care and outcomes.
We are honored to help share this opportunity from our partner network, including S.A.F.E. and the Black Coalition for Safe Motherhood (BCFSM).
BCFSM and Capella University doctoral candidate Lisa Cohn are inviting Black pregnant women to participate in a research study that explores how the ACTT Workshop experience may help improve communication during prenatal care.
The ACTT Workshop is a 90-minute, virtual, interactive session designed to help participants:
A — Ask questions until they understand the answers
C — Claim their space in healthcare settings
T — Trust their bodies and what they feel
T — Tell their stories and experiences in their own voices
This study aims to understand how this experience may empower pregnant Black women to advocate for themselves, communicate effectively with providers, and feel more confident navigating their care.
