People Empowering People for Inclusion Now! (“PEP!IN,” “we,” “us,” “ or “our”) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.


This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use the PEP!IN website ("PEP!IN website) and PEP!IN Engagement Network consists of the listings immediately below (“Engagement Network”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.


This policy applies to the information we collect:

  • On the website, www.wearepepin.com.

  •  In email, text, and other electronic messages between you and the Engagement Network.

  • When you interact with our advertising and applications on third-party websites and services, if those applications or advertising include links to this policy.

  • It does not apply to information collected by:

  • Us offline or through any other means, including on any other website or application operated by PEP!IN (such as Maternal Connect and EmpowerCR).

  • Any third party (including our affiliates), including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or through the Engagement Network.

 

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, you may not use the PEP!IN website or Engagement Network. By accessing or using the PEP!IN website and/or Engagement Network, you agree to this privacy policy. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy). We will provide notice of significant changes to current users. Your continued use of the Engagement Network after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

 

Children Under the Age of 13

Our Engagement Network is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on the PEP!IN website and/or Engagement Network. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under age 13. If you are under age 13, do not use or provide any information on the PEP!IN website and/or Engagement Network. If we learn that we have collected or received personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental or guardian consent, we will delete that information. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under age 13, please contact us at contact@wearepepin.com.


Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It
We collect several types of information from and about users of the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network including:

  • Personal Information. Information that identifies relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked with a particular user or household.

    • We collect identifiers like name, IP address, and contact information.

    • We collect certain sensitive personal information such as precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, personal information concerning a user’s health, sex life, sexual orientation, and genetic data.

  • To protect PEP!IN. This includes supporting the physical and digital security of our services, detecting and preventing fraud, and protecting our rights and property and the rights and property of others.

 

  • To process transactions on the PEP!IN website and/or Engagement Network.

 

  • To send promotional materials. This includes sending you promotional materials or notifications related to our services that may be of interest to you.

 

  • To facilitate recruitment for clinical trials and other studies by connecting potentially eligible participants with the studies.

 

  • To promote public health, such as by:

    • Promoting diverse and representative study populations in clinical trials and other studies,

    • Informing the public of health issues and resources,

    • Promoting the use of healthy habits, behaviors, practices, preventative techniques, and other health best practices, and

    • Supporting personalized health services and other services that tailor healthcare to individuals.

  • To build and support networks that foster community connections, sharing information, and mutual support among users.

  • In other ways, we may describe when you provide information.

  • For any other purpose with your consent.

 

Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose aggregated information and other information that does not identify any individual without restriction. We may disclose user information that we collect, or you provide as described in this privacy policy:

Third-Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
Some content or applications, including advertisements, are on the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network are served by third parties, including advertisers, advertisement networks and servers, content providers, and application providers. These third-parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web
beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network. The information that these parties collect may be associated with your personal information, and they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They
may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.


We do not control these third-parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly. Posted User Contributions
You may provide information that may be published or displayed on public areas of the PEP!IN website and/or Engagement Network, or transmitted to other users of the Engagement Network or third-parties (collectively, “User Contributions”). Your User Contributions are provided at your own risk. Please be aware that it may be possible that your User Contributions will be broadly accessible on the internet. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that unauthorized persons will not view your User Contributions.


Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  • Tracking Technologies. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the Engagement Network may then be inaccessible or not function properly.

  • Disclosure of Your Information for Third-Party Advertising. If you do not want us to share your personal information with unaffiliated or non-agent third-parties for promotional purposes, you can opt-out by checking the relevant box located on the registration form. You can also always opt-out by sending us an email with your request to contact@wearepepin.com.

  • Promotional Offers from the PEP!IN. If you do not wish to have your contact

information used by PEP!IN to promote our own or third-parties’ products or services, you can opt-out by checking the relevant box located on the registration form or at any other time by sending us an email stating your request to contact@wearepepin.com. If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions.


Targeted Advertising: If you do not want us to use information that we collect or that you provide to us to deliver advertisements according to our advertisers’ target-audience preferences, you can opt-out by notifying us at contact@wearepepin.com.


We do not control third-parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising, including through the Engagement Network. However, these third-parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. For
example, you can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on the NAI’s website.


Accessing and Correcting Your Information
You can review and change your personal information by logging into the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network and visiting your account profile page.


You may also send us an email at contact@wearepepin.com to request access to, correction, or deletion of any personal information that you have provided to us. Deleting personal information may require that we delete your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.


If you delete your user account or User Contributions from the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network, copies of your User Contributions and other content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other PEP!IN website and Engagement Network users. Proper access and use of information provided on the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network, including User Contributions, is governed by our Terms of Use.


Data Security
We have implemented safeguards designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information
transmitted to our Engagement Network. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for the circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained in the PEP!IN website and/or Engagement Network.


The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our PEP!IN website and Engagement Network, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. You may not share your password with
third-parties. We urge you to be careful about the information that you choose to share on the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network, particularly in public areas such as message boards. Information shared in public areas of the Engagement Network may be viewed by any user.


Do-Not-Track Signals
Some browsers may be configured to send a "do-not-track" signal when accessing websites. Because there is not a widely accepted understanding of how websites should behave when receiving this signal, we do not currently respond to the do-not-track signal. If, in the future, there comes to be an accepted method of reacting to the do-not-track signal, we may adjust our
approach.


Changes to Our Privacy Policy
From time to time, we may modify this privacy policy. You should periodically review the current version of the privacy policy by visiting this page. In some cases, we may choose to notify you of changes to our privacy policy by email to the primary email address specified in your account and/or through a notice in the Engagement Network. The date the privacy policy
was last revised is identified at the top of the page. Your continued use of the PEP!IN website and Engagement Network constitutes your agreement to this policy.
