Empowering Inclusive Patient-Centric Engagement: Recap of PEP!IN's Participation in the 2023 Annual Patient Summit

We were honored to participate in the thought-provoking and transformative 2023 Annual Patient Summit. Hosted by the Science of Patient Input (SPI) program at MDIC, this event brought together patients, FDA representatives, health equity champions, and medical device industry executives for insightful discussions and impactful presentations.

The summit agenda was packed with engaging sessions, covering a wide range of topics crucial to advancing patient engagement and health equity in medical device development.


The summit was hosted by Kert Gunasekaran, Science of Patient Input Director at MDIC, and brought together thought leaders, industry experts, and patient advocates to discuss pressing issues in healthcare and patient engagement. With an agenda packed with insightful sessions, including empowering inclusive patient-centric engagement and overcoming diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) barriers in clinical trials, participants gained valuable perspectives on driving positive change in the healthcare landscape.


PEP!IN's Insightful Segment: During our segment, Dr. Melva Covington, Co-Founder and Managing Director of PEP!IN, Tamara R. Allen, Co-Founder and Chief Visionary Marketing Officer of PEP!IN, and Ms. Deidre S. O'Neil, PEP!IN Patient Ambassador, shared compelling insights on the importance of inclusive patient engagement.
